Efficient Production Enhancement of Coalbed Methane in Huabei Oilfield

On July 7th, the author learned that in the first half of this year, the commercial volume of coalbed methane in Huabei Oilfield increased by 45 million cubic meters compared with the same period last year.
Huabei Oilfield has been committed to treating the coalbed methane business as an important growth pole for building a comprehensive energy company with a production capacity of 10 million tons of oil equivalent. Since the beginning of this year, Huabei Oilfield has followed the strategy of "developing Qingshui and expanding the periphery", empowered by both self-operation and cooperation, and focused on efficient production increase of coalbed methane, accelerating the construction of a green and intelligent industrial base with "one main and three auxiliary" functions.
Huabei Oilfield has focused on accelerating the exploration and evaluation and the technological breakthroughs of horizontal wells. With the main line of "exploring reserves, upgrading technology and implementing production capacity", it has carried out high-yield tests of horizontal wells in different depths and regions, laying a solid foundation for the efficient utilization of resources in the Qingshui Basin.
Huabei Oilfield has made an overall plan for the production capacity scale, highlighting the synergy and efficiency. It has continuously carried out detailed geological evaluations, optimized the design of drilling trajectories, and ensured the maximum control of reserves from the source through the well network. During the implementation process, dedicated personnel have been assigned to the site to promptly analyze and solve complex situations, ensuring efficient well completion. It has also deepened the comprehensive management of old gas fields, fully launched the "ballast stone" project for old gas fields, established a governance model of "testing a batch, maturing a batch, and promoting a batch", and carried out application tests of new technologies, with the production of each measure well exceeding the target.
Huabei Oilfield has built a full-chain ecosystem of "basic research - technological breakthroughs - transformation of achievements", promoting basic research and technological breakthroughs to lay the foundation for the gas control mechanism of coal reservoirs. It has continuously optimized the differentiated energy concentration fracturing templates and carried out multi-round coordinated fracturing of well groups and other production increase tests, achieving differentiated production increase in well areas.
